Banco Santander Central Hispano (SCH), first the Spanish banking group, has closed 2001 with net income increase of 10.1% to 2.48 billion euros, below the targets set by the institution (even to +16%). The net balance of management increased by 23.7% to 10.25 billion, of which the result on financial operations decreased by 2.4% to 68.1 million compared to the negative impact of the crisis in Argentina on Sch which is strongly rooted in that country. Now the stock is gaining 1 .45% on the square Madrid, while Banco Bilbao (BBVA) gained 1 .89%.
